A photography project for fans with a learning disability.
Being a football fan can have lots of benefits.
For people with a learning disability, these benefits can be especially pronounced. It can:
- Help establish a positive social identity
- Provide opportunities for social interaction with other fans
- Allow people to feel that they belong amongst their fellow fans
- Be an opportunity to get out of the house
Bradford City FC is proud of the work it has done working with people with a learning disability both in the community and within the crowd at its home matches. We are currently working with Leeds Beckett University on a project to demonstrate the positive experience of being a Bradford City FC supporter for adults with a learning disability.
During January and February this year, photographs will be taken by fans with a learning difficulty in the crowd at home games. These photographs will be taken in all sections of the stadium and then displayed in the stadium later in the year.
If you will be attending the home games against Oldham Athletic this Saturday (16th January), Fleetwood Town (30th January) or Rochdale (20th February) there will be an opportunity for you to be photographed and have your image on display at a later date.
