HANSON BACK IN, REID DOUBTFUL

25 January 2016

Speaking ahead of Tuesday's Yorkshire derby with Barnsley, Bantams boss Phil Parkinson has confirmed that fit-again James Hanson is back in contention after a return to training - but Kyel Reid is a doubt for the game.

Hanson joined in with training this Monday for the first time after missing City's last two games due to a calf complaint. Reid didn't feature with the rest of his team-mates, however, as he went to see a specialist about a minor knee injury.

Parkinson said: "Reidy went to see a specialist this (Monday) afternoon about his knee.

"We are not overly-concerned about it at the moment. Matt (Barrass, Head Physio) feels it is probably the fact that we have trained on astro-turf for a while now and it has inflamed it slightly.

"Kyel hasn't trained today so we are going to have to manage him as we go along.

"If he needs an injection at some point, we might have to give him a few days off towards the end of the week to let it all settle down.

"We have a couple of other knocks around but I think every club will have a few players carrying little injuries at this stage of the season.

"James (Hanson) is fit and back training today. He has trained fully and we are pleased he seems to have suffered no reaction to that so far."

Following his dismissal against Port Vale on Saturday, Lee Evans will start a three-match ban on Tuesday night.

Parkinson continued: "Evo (Lee Evans) is out so that opens the door up for somebody else to take this opportunity.

"We will look into the possibility of freshening things up."
