YOUR CITY NEEDS YOU!

29 January 2016

Ahead of City's Sky Bet League 1 match against Fleetwood Town at the Coral Windows Stadium this Saturday (30 January 2016), Bantams boss Phil Parkinson took time out of his match preparations to sit down with the club's Chief Operating Officer James Mason and preview the home fixture.

Following the arrival of striker Wes Thomas from Championship side Birmingham City this Friday, Parkinson gave his views on the new loan signing, as well as an update on some of the club's injured players.

Most importantly though on the eve of Fleetwood's visit to Valley Parade, Parkinson was keen to stress the vital role City's supporters have to play come 3:00pm on Saturday afternoon.

Parkinson said: "I just feel tomorrow's (Saturday) game is a really pivotal one for us.

"Can we get ourselves off and running again? To do that, I feel it is going to need a group effort.

"Ever since I've been at Bradford, we have won together. That is the fans, the staff behinds the scenes, and every player pulling in the right direction.

"I feel it is going to need one almighty effort from everybody in the ground tomorrow to get us a result and really kick start us again.

"Whenever we have played at home, we have always said to the boys that we have to make the opposition know they have been in a real game.

"That means making them defend, putting them under pressure and having the crowd being as vociferous as possible to give us every chance of taking the points.

"It is that team effort on and off the pitch that helps get results.

"I think Marshy (Mark Marshall) is a great example.

"I really felt the fans were getting behind him on Tuesday night (vs Barnsley), and that is huge for a player like Marshy who thrives on that.

"In return, he will lift the supporters off their seats with his play. He is a player who will respond to the fans getting right behind him.

"The supporters have a huge connection with this club, it is their club, and we need them to do everything they can to inspire and lift those players."
