...AND NOW OFF TO SCOTLAND

17 July 2016

Stuart McCall's Bantams began the first full day of their six-day Scottish training camp this Sunday.

Following their 2-1 pre-season victory over Gateshead, City's squad continued their journey north on Saturday evening up to their hotel base in St Andrews.

All of McCall's senior squad members have made the trip to Scotland for the next part of City's pre-season programme, along with the same trialist midfielder who featured against Gateshead and two apprentices, Kwame Boateng and Niah Payne.

Despite missing the Gateshead game with minor injuries, defensive duo James Meredith and James King have travelled.

Fellow defenders Stephen Darby and Rory McArdle are also in Scotland with the squad as they continue their rehab from groin and shoulder injuries respectively.

The Bantams will remain in Scotland until travelling home back to Bradford on Friday. McCall's men will play one friendly fixture during their time in Scotland against St Johnstone on Tuesday night.

McCall said: "We will do a cool down today (Sunday) for the lads who played most of the match at Gateshead while the rest will have normal training session.

"We'll have a double session on Monday and then look forward to the game on Tuesday.

"We're looking forward to the week in general, it will be a good opportunity for the five new lads to bond with the rest of the group. The players will enjoy the week away but it will still be hard work."
