CITY SEAL SATTELMAIER SIGNING

22 July 2016

The Bantams have completed the signing of goalkeeper Rouven Sattelmaier.

The 28 year-old German has signed after a recent trial period with Stuart McCall's side, agreeing a one-year deal to become City's sixth new signing of the summer.

Sattelmaier kept goal for the whole of City's friendly against Guiseley at the start of the month and has also spent some time with the squad during their six-day stay in Scotland.

Born in Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart, the shot-stopper will now join fellow summer recruit Colin Doyle and Joe Cracknell in City's goalkeeping ranks.

As a young goalkeeper, he spent time with SGV Freiburg and VfB Stuttgart at academy level before beginning his senior career with SSV Jahn Regensburg II in 2006, going on to play for the club’s first team on numerous occasions.

Sattelmaier's impressive form with Regensburg led to a move to Bayern Munich in 2010.

During his time with the German giants, Sattelmaier featured for Munich's second team and although he never played for the first team at a competitive level, he was included in the squad on occasions and was recognised as the third choice stopper for the first team.

Following the expiration of his contract with Bayern Munich, he had a trial at Rangers before signing for FC Heidenheim in 2013 with his most recent club before signing for the Bantams being Stuttgarter Kickers.
