CITY SECURE DEAL FOR KNIGHT-PERCIVAL

1 July 2016

The Bantams have moved to further strengthen their defensive options by signing centre half Nathaniel Knight-Percival on a free transfer.

After completing his medical at City's Apperley Bridge training ground, Knight-Percival put pen to paper on a two-year deal this Friday to become City manager Stuart McCall's second signing of the summer.

The 29 year-old joins up with McCall's squad after impressing in Sky Bet League One last season with Shrewsbury Town.

The Enfield-born centre half can also feature as a left back.

After signing for the Bantams, Knight-Percival said: "Having a look around the club and speaking with the gaffer, this move just felt right for me.

"Hearing the plans for next season, it seemed like a really good challenge for me to take up.

"Everyone knows this is such a big club, and you could see from the outside the slow and steady progression Bradford has made over the years.

"The club is looking to achieve something great and it is exciting to now be a part of it."

Known as 'Rolls Royce' for his immaculate performances, Knight-Percival captained Shrewsbury in the second half of the 2015/2016 campaign.

The left-sided centre back made 41 appearances for Shrewsbury during last season, netting an impressive five times from defence.

Knight-Percival joined Shrewsbury in 2014 from Peterborough United.

During his spell with The Posh, Knight-Percival helped Peterborough to win the EFL Trophy with a 3-1 win over Chesterfield at Wembley Stadium in 2014.

Peterborough also reached the League One Play-Off semi-finals in the same season, with Knight-Percival starting the second leg at Leyton Orient.

The defender was given his first taste of EFL football by Peterborough after catching the eye while with National Conference side Wrexham.

Knight-Percival's first season with Peterborough was actually in the Championship, with the defender playing 32 times in the 2012/2013 season following his move from non-league football.

The athletic defender played for Wrexham between 2010 and 2012 after joining from Histon.
