BANTAMS IMPRESSIVE AT VALLEY PARADE

8 June 2016

The Bantams had an eye-catching 2015-16 season, finishing 5th in the League One table and confirming a place in the end of season play-offs.

Although City were ultimately beaten in the play-off semi-finals by Millwall, Phil Parkinson's men finished the campaign in promotion form at Valley Parade.

Clean Sheets were spoken about often throughout last season with Ben Williams and the back four taking plaudits for some defensively assured displays. 12 clean sheets were picked up at Valley Parade and only Wigan Athletic, Hull City and Middlesbrough had more - all three of which were promoted. Let's take a look at the 12 clean sheets recorded at home last season.

1 | Bradford City 1-0 Port Vale
2 | Bradford City 1-0 Blackpool
3 | Bradford City 2-0 Crewe Alexandra
4 | Bradford City 0-0 Coventry City
5 | Bradford City 1-0 Oldham Athletic
6 | Bradford City 2-0 Southend United
7 | Bradford City 2-0 Burton Albion
8 | Bradford City 1-0 Millwall
9 | Bradford City 1-0 Scunthorpe United
10 | Bradford City 1-0 Swindon Town
11 | Bradford City 4-0 Walsall
12 | Bradford City 2-0 Chesterfield

City only conceded 16 goals in 23 home matches last season!

The Bantams also recorded 14 wins at Valley Parade last season. To add to the 11 wins listed above (listed is a goalless draw with Coventry City to complete the list of 12), City also beat Bury, Doncaster Rovers and Fleetwood Town; all by a scoreline of 2-1.

Only Wigan Athletic won as many league home matches as Bradford City last season in League One, with Middlesbrough winning the most in the Football League during the 2015-16 campaign (16).

Home form proved vital for Phil Parkinson and his team last year, eventually finishing the season with second best home form in the entire division. City picked up 47 points at home from a possible 69, meaning 68% of points available in the 23 home league matches were scooped up by The Bantams.

City's home form last season was only second to Wigan Athletic in League One, who picked up just a point more (48 points). Our home form ranked at joint 7th in the entire Football League last season, alongside Bristol Rovers, Burton Albion and fellow Yorkshire side, Sheffield Wednesday - two of which were promoted, the latter losing in the play-off final.

Despite the talk here being very much about how good City were on their own patch last season, the away form is more than respectable also.

Out of 72 Football League teams, The Bantams picked up the joint second most amount of clean sheets away from home. Birmingham City also managed 10, with Burton Albion topping the pile with 11. Let's take a look at the 10 away clean sheets managed by Phil Parkinson's side last season:

1 | Barnsley 0-0 Bradford City
2 | Doncaster Rovers 0-1 Bradford City
3 | Millwall 0-0 Bradford City
4 | Scunthorpe United 0-2 Bradford City
5 | Chesterfield 0-1 Bradford City
6 | Peterborough United 0-4 Bradford City
7 | Blackpool 0-1 Bradford City
8 | Bury 0-0 Bradford City
9 | Crewe Alexandra 0-1 Bradford City
10 | Southend United 0-1 Bradford City

The home form was brilliant last season, you were part of that as a collective group of supporters. Let's replicate that again next season.
