DEVINE SIGNS FIRST PRO DEAL

23 June 2016

Bantams midfielder Daniel Devine has signed his first professional contract with the football club.

Devine, 18, penned a one-year deal at Valley Parade this Thursday after returning from a family holiday.

The central midfielder was the only scholar offered a contract with the senior squad for the new season following the conclusion of the 2015/2016 campaign.

Fellow youth team graduate Reece Webb-Foster signed his own professional deal with the Bantams last year.

After putting pen to paper on his contract, Devine said: "This is the first step on the ladder for me.

"It is what every young players wants - their first professional contract. Hopefully I can kick on now and see where it takes me."

During his two years as an apprentice, Devine helped City to retain the Youth Alliance North East Division title in 2015 and then win the Final Third Development (reserve) League back in April.

Comfortable on the ball, Devine also enjoyed a loan spell at Evo-Stik First Division North side Harrogate Railway last season.
