#YOUASK - PAUL ANDERSON

8 June 2016

We gathered a selection of fans' questions on social media and put them across to City midfielder Paul Anderson for a programme feature, which was used in 'The Parader' last season.

Who is the best player you have played with over the years?

Sent in by:@JakeyHancock on Twitter

Anderson: 'It's hard to say because I was very fortunate to spend a bit of time at Liverpool. I got the opportunity to be in squads and play in pre-season games where I was alongside Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso. Alonso was probably the best technical footballer that I've seen but then Steven Gerrard is Steven Gerrard, so one of those two I would say.'

Which player past or present would you like to play on a team with?

Sent in by:Adam, aged 7.

Anderson: 'It's tough. Past - Pele. Present - Lionel Messi.'

What is your favourite match that you have played in?

Sent in by:@DaveParry1 on Twitter

Anderson: 'I've probably got two. Being a local boy back in Nottingham, we beat Leicester 5-1 and I happened to score as well in front of the Leicester fans, so that was a nice one for me because I used to get a lot of stick from Leicester fans with me living in Leicester myself whilst playing for Forest. The other one is the play-off game at the end of the 2014-15 season, Ipswich vs Norwich; when I scored in that game, the noise that came front he fans was probably one of the highlights that I've had in my career.'

What's your favourite goal you've ever scored and why?

Sent in by:@harryjxl on Twitter

Anderson: 'Like I said, the two goals that I just mentioned before, both goals meant so much to me at the time. I think if you add everything together it was the goal against Norwich; just because it was in the play-off semi-finals, it was such a big occasion and I hadn't played for several weeks beforehand. So, to get that opportunity, it was a big boost for me to be honest - I'd probably go with that goal.'
