After his impressive performance in the Burton win, Jamie Proctor's double proved enough to secure Parkinson's men a 2-1 success over Doncaster and send City into the top six in Sky Bet League 1.
A late goal from Doncaster's Nathan Tyson set up a slightly nervy finish for the Bantams but City hung on to make it back-to-back home wins within the week.
Parkinson said: "I was very pleased with the way we played today (Saturday).
"It is not always easy to reproduce the same intensity we played at on Tuesday. We just reminded the players ahead of the game of when we beat Southend on the Tuesday a few weeks back and then drew against Rochdale the following Saturday.
"I felt we let our standards drop a little in that (Rochdale) game but we've learned from that now.
"Obviously when you win like we did on the Tuesday, teams give you that little bit more respect and they come ready for it. It was important then that we brought things up a gear, and we were tremendous.
"On top of the chances we created and the great play we produced, our discipline and work-rate without the ball was very good.
"We lost our concentration a bit towards the end of the game and we have to learn from that because it would have been a travesty if that second goal for them would have gone in given the balance of play.
"That is being hypercritical of the players to be fair but we have mentioned in the dressing room afterwards that we can only switch off physically and mentally when the referee blows his final whistle.
"For 95% of the game though, we were very good."
Proctor's two goals ensured the striker picked up his second Man of the Match award in the week but the forward was only passed fit to play a couple of hours before kick off due to a tight hamstring during the week.
Parkinson continued: "He (Proctor) had a fitness test before the game but he was so determined to play.
"The combination between him and Billy Clarke for the first goal was really good. It was great play from Mez (James Meredith) for the second goal and a fantastic finish from Jamie."
