Bantams boss Phil Parkinson is hopeful City can bounce back from Tuesday's disappointing home defeat to Colchester United against a very familiar opponent this weekend.

Four days on from City's 2-1 reversal at the hands of Colchester, Parkinson's men will make their return to Sky Bet League 1 action against Bury at Gigg Lane this Saturday.

The match will be the Bantams' fourth encounter with David Flitcroft's Shakers in less than five months.

City defeated Bury in the first league fixture between the two sides at the Coral Windows Stadium back in October but Bury triumphed on penalties in the Emirates FA Cup after two goalless ties.

Parkinson said: "We have already played Bury three times this season and each occasion has been extremely tight and hard-fought.

"We need to go there after Tuesday's result and put in the sort of performance that we produced at Blackpool last weekend.

"We've had good chances in all three games but we know they are a competitive side and their home form is good.

"They have had a couple of set-backs on the road in recent weeks but each time they have responded with a strong result at home.

"We have looked at Tuesday night again and the ways we need to do better going forward.

"We must play with a better structure and shape. We need to get back to what we've been doing well and stick with it from now until the end of the season.

"It is important that we go through the reasons why we lost but we also have to make sure this defeat doesn't fester too long - we have another big game coming up."
