THE LEGENDS EVENING - A BIG THANK YOU

11 March 2016

The Club would like to thank all of the supporters and former players present at 'The Legends' evening this week for their part in an enjoyable and entertaining night at the Coral Windows Stadium.

Nearly 300 fans got the opportunity to meet up with some of their favourite players from the past in the McCall and Hendrie Suites this Wednesday (9 March 2016) at an event set up to mark the official launch of the new 'Former Bantams Association'.

Some of the players present had travelled a great distance to be involved in the evening, and their efforts were certainly appreciated by both club staff and supporters.

City stars from the 1950s all the way up to recent years gathered to roll back the years and reminisce about their memorable moments wearing the claret and amber.

Throughout the night, players from the different eras of the club's history joined host John Helm up on stage to share their memories and stories from their time at Valley Parade.

As many as 30 different former players were in attendance, including Ian Cooper, John Hall, Charlie Rackstraw, Allan Gilliver, Terry Dolan, Wayne Jacobs, Dean Windass, David Wetherall, Bobby Campbell, Mark Ellis, John Hendrie, Ian Ormondroyd and Jon McLaughlin.

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson was also at the event.

Speaking on the night, legendary former City midfielder Stuart McCall, another attendee, said: "It is always important that a club has something like this in place to remember their former players.

"It is nice for the players to be able to come back here and be remembered by the supporters. The club has had some great days down the years.

"It has been great to see some old faces here tonight and relive some good memories with the fans as well as the players."

Along with swapping popular anecdotes with old team-mates and supporters alike, the group of City legends were also on hand to throw their support behind the club's #upgradetheparade campaign.

A fundraising raffle was held during the night which saw supporters given the opportunity to bid on some prized club memorabilia, with a section of the proceeds collected from the evening going to the club's fan-funding campaign.

On top of the items on show last evening, there are plenty of other unique prizes available to supporters via our dedicated website.

Fans can see the latest prizes available to buy/bid on, including a chance to buy a 2016/17 season ticket for only £5.00, by visiting tifosy.com/bantams .
