MORAIS: 'WE'VE BEEN UNDERDOGS BEFORE AND COME OUT ON TOP'

20 May 2016

As City prepare for a Play-Off Semi-Final second leg at Millwall, with a place in the Wembley Final against Barnsley at stake, Filipe Morais acknowledges that City are certainly underdogs going into the game, but is fully aware that the Bantams have come out on top in situations like this before.

Phil Parkinson's men will be attempting to overturn a two-goal deficit after losing 3-1 to Millwall at The Coral Windows Stadium five days ago and Morais is confident that the group are more than capable of producing a big performance when it is needed most.

He said: 'Obviously we were disappointed after the last game, but after a couple of days off we're re-focusing. The coaching staff have done well to get us back up and ready, and we're really looking forward to this game. We're relishing the opportunity to try and turn things round.'

'No matter what approach we take to the game, the one thing that is guaranteed is that we're all really determined to turn this tie around. We're really determined to put in a performance that shows what we're all about.'

'We were down after losing last week, anyone would be down after losing like that in front of their home fans. If anything though, it spurs us on a little bit more.'

'It was frustrating for me personally because I had an opportunity to score as well. I'm really determined to put that right and I don't want it to be something that I look back on.'

'The sort of atmosphere and occasion that tonight beholds, is something that I personally relish. That little bit of needle in the crowd, I love it! I can't wait for it and I know a lot of our players, with the character we've got in the squad, will relish the occasion.'

'We go into the game as underdogs now, 3-1 down and that suits us down to the ground, we've been the underdog a number of times before and we've come out on top. I'm really looking forward to the game.'

'We definitely don't need to convince ourselves that we can do it. We have done it before and have got the players here who have done it before in the past. We know ourselves we've got that sort of a performance in our lockers, we've been to away grounds in daunting atmospheres against teams with a lot of quality and got big results.'

'We just want to concentrate on putting in a performance to the standards that we know we can all play at and then in turn the result will hopefully come.'
