Millwall go into Friday's return game as strong favourites to progress into the League 1 Play-Off Final a week on Sunday having defeated Parkinson's men 3-1 in last Sunday opening leg at the Coral Windows Stadium.
Parkinson believes that the club's underdog status could perhaps work in their favour against the Lions though, with the Bantams chief looking for his players to call upon the same fighting spirit shown by City sides in certain notable games down the years.
Parkinson said: "Millwall will be looking to use the home crowd to their advantage but we have to try and turn that against them.
"We need to create a nervousness on the pitch and in the ground. The way we do that is by the manner of our performance.
"There is no pressure on us - everyone has written us off already.
"Everyone is talking about Millwall and their players and how they have a great chance to get to Wembley.
"If you look in recent years though, the club were two goals down in 1996 (in the Play-Off semi-finals first leg) under Chris Kamara and they turned that around at Blackpool away in the second leg.
"Three years ago, we were 3-2 down and went to Burton and played at our very best to turn that one around.
"Last year, of course, we were two goals down and won 4-2 at Chelsea (in the F.A Cup), so history tells us that this club has spirit, determination and a never-say-die attitude.
"We will need all those same qualities again when we go down to Millwall on Friday night. If Millwall are to go through, we have to make sure they have really earned it.
"We have to remember we are two goals down with ninety minutes to go, not fifteen minutes to go. We have to set out our game plan and stick to it throughout the match.
"We will need to produce one of our best performances not just of this season, but of recent years.
"We have worked extremely hard from the first day of pre-season to get into this position - we have to give it everything we've got to make it to Wembley for the final.
"As a manager and a player, opportunities to play at Wembley don't come round too often.
"We have to look back at Friday night and know that we have done everything we can to try and make sure it is us and not Millwall going there."
