CITY DRAWN AT HOME TO CAMBRIDGE IN CHECKATRADE TROPHY

10 November 2016

The Bantams have been handed a home tie with Sky Bet League Two side Cambridge United in round two of this season's Checkatrade Trophy.

City and Cambridge were pitted together in the northern section of the competition after the draw was completed by Danny Mills and Alex McLeish live on Sky Sports News HQ.

The Bantams were already guaranteed a home tie in Thursday's draw after securing top spot in Northern Group C despite a 3-2 defeat at Morecambe on Wednesday evening.

Cambridge secured their spot in the last thirty-two of the Checkatrade Trophy after finishing second in a group which contained Middlesbrough U21s, Shrewsbury Town and Scunthorpe United.

The U's tasted success at home to Middlesbrough and away to Shrewsbury but lost their final group game at the Abbey Stadium during the week to table-toppers Scunthorpe United.

The round two tie between City and Cambridge at the Northern Commercials Stadium is scheduled to take place the week commencing 5 December 2016.

Ticket details for this tie will follow in due course.
