McCALL KEEN TO REMEMBER RECENT LEAGUE SUCCESS

10 November 2016

Bantams boss Stuart McCall is confident his players will be able to pick up where they left off in Sky Bet League One at the weekend despite recent cup disappointment.

McCall's men return to League One action on Saturday when they entertain Rochdale at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

Since the Bantams' last league game - a 3-2 success at AFC Wimbledon two weeks ago - City have lost in the Emirates FA Cup and Checkatrade Trophy after using both matches as an opportunity to rotate their squad.

Prior to those cup losses though, City picked up four points and scored six goals against Wimbledon and Sheffield United the week before that - two sides right up at the top end of the form table ahead of their meetings with the Bantams.

McCall said: "Obviously we were certainly disappointed by our (FA) cup exit to Accrington Stanley but I'd prefer to look back and focus on our last league fixtures.

"A similar performance and atmosphere to our previous home league game against Sheffield United would go a long way to helping us get the right result on Saturday.

"We take great strength and confidence from our performances against Sheffield United and AFC Wimbledon.

"The lads are in a good place mentally and physically and we are naturally looking to put in another strong display on Saturday."

Opponents Rochdale will come to Valley Parade in seventh place in the table, a home victory over Oldham Athletic in their previous league game moving them level on points with Northampton Town in the last play-off spot.

McCall added: "We know they are more than capable of giving us a very challenging on Saturday, especially if we are not at the top of our game.

"Keith's (Hill) sides are always totally committed and well organised so we have to be ready to more than match that from the final whistle to the last."
