After a goalless opening period at the Globe Arena, Haris Vuckic fired home from inside the box to hand City the lead seven minutes after the break.

Morecambe hit back shortly afterwards, however, via a well-taken leveller from half time substitute Paul Mullin.

Despite Mullin's equaliser, City were looking strong after the restart but the Shrimps eventually took control of the match later in the half thanks to two strikes within two minutes from striker Cole Stockton.

Stockton's goals meant City were looking like they would have to settle for second spot until Vuckic superbly converted direct from a free-kick from outside the box seven minutes from the end.

Although City still went on to lose the game, Vuckic's second of the evening moved the Bantams back to top of the group, securing a home tie in round two in the process.

90+1min: McNulty looks to threaten as he drives deep into the box but he is halted in his tracks by a well-timed tackle from Whitfield, the ball going out for a corner.

76min: McGowan's run into the box eventually sees the ball played back to Fleming outside the area but the midfielder fires comfortably over.

75min: From the resulting City free-kick following a spot of treatment for Vuckic, Morecambe counter-attack and Mullin eventually curls for goal with an effort from just inside the box that is held by Sattelmaier.

72min: YELLOW CARD - Edwards is booked for a late tackle on Vuckic roughly midway into Morecambe's half of the pitch.

70min: McGowan's cross into the box finds Stockton in space in between McArdle and Clarke but he heads over from a decent position in front of goal.

69min: SUB - The Bantams bring on apprentice defender Sam Wright for Meredith in a substitute that looked pre-planned ahead of the game.

63min: Dunn turns away from Daniel Devine but his shot from outside the area is held first time by a watchful Sattelmaier.

59min: Morais gets the ball back to him from Hudson after his corner delivery is half-cleared and the winger's curling cross towards goal from wide actually ends up on the roof of Nizic's net with the 'keeper scrambling back.

57min: Vuckic surges into the box at pace, he tries to turn into shooting space past Alex Whitmore but the defender blocks his path and Morecambe can clear their lines.

52min: Stockton tries to turn into shooting space inside the box after being teed up by Dunn but Clarke makes a vital block on the striker's attempted strike for goal.

46min: The Bantams restart the match.

45min: Neat play from Vuckic and Meredith results in the latter crossing low into the six yard box but the potentially dangerous centre is cleared in the middle.

43min: Vuckic's lofted forward pass is picked out of the night's sky by Morais but the attacker fires over from the edge of the area after pressure from Edwards.

40min: King is able to carry on soon after despite being on the receiving end of a hefty looking challenge.

39min: There is a brief break in play as James King receives treatment from Club Doctor Vince Cavaliere. Dr Cavaliere is temporarily covering the on-field physio duties on match-days for City after Head Physio Chris Royston suffered an injury recently playing football.

35min: McGowan's weak shot for goal from just outside the box is blocked out by Nathan Clarke. Dunn is onto the clearance first but his rising effort, also from outside the area, sails harmlessly over the bar.

34min: Vuckic's low drive from outside the box has Nizic scrambling across his goal but luckily for the Morecambe shot-stopper, the effort rolls just past the post.

31min: Morecambe threaten twice in quick succession. McGowan's cross into the area finds Stockton unmarked in the middle but his glancing header across the box can't find a Shrimps team-mate. A mix-up between Morais and Windle gives Morecambe a second chance, however. Dunn takes advantage of the confusion to latch onto the loose ball but his effort for goal is deflected away after the attacker had twisted and turned neatly in the area trying to engineer himself space for a shot.

30min: Vuckic and Filipe Morais combine during a bright City counter-attack. The latter eventually stands the ball up towards the far post for Meredith but his shot is blocked behind for a corner.

19min: McGowan turns away from James Meredith and gets a cross in with his weaker left foot. The cross finds Stockton but the striker's header flashes some distance past Sattelmaier's near post.

13min: Vuckic lines one up from outside the box but Danijel Nizic is able to watch his powerful rising drive go wide of goal.

11min: Andrew Fleming takes aim from distance but his low drive lacks the power and precision to trouble Sattelmaier, who gathers easily.

10min: Cole Stockton turns into space inside the area but his ball across the box is cut out by Sattelmaier with Jack Dunn in the middle waiting for the cut-back.

9min: Ellis Hudson's cross is met by Haris Vuckic but the Slovenian's glancing header flies well wide of goal.

8min: Tom Windle's cross takes a touch off the head of a Morecambe defender before finding Marc McNulty. The Scottish striker fires for goal first time but his volley from inside the box flies over.

7min: Molyneux's resulting corner is sent goalwards by Ryan Edwards but the defender's downward header is comfortably saved by Sattelmaier

6min: Aaron McGowan's cross-field pass finds Lee Molyneux and the attacker's low strike from just outside the area is turned behind by Rouven Sattelmaier.
