COMMUNITY PARTNER PROVIDENT HELPS BANGLA BANTAMS

27 October 2016

The #BantamsCommunity scheme supported by Provident, the Club’s Official Community Partner, is in full swing and in just a few short weeks, a number of fantastic worthy causes have already benefited.

#BantamsCommunity aims to give more Bradfordians the chance to watch their club and in doing so help a variety of community based projects.

Provident’s backing will subsidise free tickets to be given away to schools, community organisations, disability groups and other individuals who would, under normal circumstances, not be able to come to watch their heroes on a Saturday afternoon.

The scheme will also help charities with their fundraising objectives.

The Bangla Bantams & Shapla FC, founded by Humayan Islam in 2015, were amongst the first groups to take advantage of the #BantamsCommunity scheme. Both Bangla Bantams & Shapla FC were founded with the aim of helping the local South Asian community and increase grassroots football engagement in the Bradford area.

Since their formation, Shapla and the Bangla Bantams have successfully run several initiatives within the local South Asian community, such as arranging opportunities for fans to attend matches and a fasting event during Ramadan.

Thanks to the support of Provident, the Bangla Bantams have already attended games this season, and are already booked in for several other games throughout the season.

Humayan Islam, founder of the Bangla Bantams said: “With the continuous financial support of the fans for diversity initiative and the subsidised tickets rates by Bradford City FC, the Bangla Bantams have been able to purchase tickets. A massive thank you from the Bangla Bantams and creating more future Bantams fans from all communities”

Throughout the coming weeks, you’ll find out how the partnership has provided match day tickets for numerous good causes including Guiseley Football Club’s Under 11s and how it has helped raise funds for a defibrillator at Bolton Woods Junior Football Club.

If you know any group or individual who would benefit from #BantamsCommunity and the opportunity to come to the Northern Commercials Stadium, then please contact us on social media through Twitter, @OfficialBantams using the hash tag #BantamsCommunity
