The Bantams will take on Hartlepool at Billingham Town in Northern Group 1 of the Central League Cup on Tuesday afternoon - kick off 2:00pm.
Along with Hartlepool, Newcastle United and Sheffield United are also in City's group in the competition.
Following a summer recuperating from shoulder and groin problems, Rory McArdle is expected to make his return to action in the game.
