McCALL WAITING ON DUO

22 September 2016

Bantams boss Stuart McCall says that a couple of his players will need to be assessed ahead of Saturday's (24 September 2016) Sky Bet League One fixture at Bolton Wanderers.

As he did for last weekend's home encounter with Bristol Rovers, McCall is expected to have a number of options available to him for the match at the Macron Stadium.

Two of McCall's squad will need fitness checks ahead of the trip across the Pennines but he is hopeful that both will be cleared for selection.

McCall said: "We have a couple of niggly little injuries but hopefully they will clear up by Saturday. We are confident that will happen.

"As we did last week, we have a few pleasing selection dilemmas over a number of positions really.

"In an ideal world, it would have been nice to get Nathan (Clarke) and Rory (McArdle) a reserve game during the week but they've still had some good training."

This Saturday's encounter with Bolton will see City come up against former boss Phil Parkinson for the first time since his departure from the Northern Commercials Stadium back in June.

McCall added: "I'm sure the players who were here under Phil respect him a lot for the job he did at the club. As a supporter of the club myself, I certainly do.

"He's done great so far at a big club in Bolton, so we know that this will be another tough away game for us.

"We will go there in confidence though, full of form, and really looking forward to the game.

"We've sold our allocation, I'm sure they will have a big crowd too. I believe the players will be relishing this sort of occasion."
