Bantams boss Stuart McCall was full of praise for his players after City clinched their spot in the play-offs with a deserved 3-0 home success over AFC Wimbledon.

Two goals from Tony McMahon, including a penalty for the City right-back, plus an effort on the stroke of half time from Mark Marshall, sealed a comfortable victory for McCall's men and a place in the top six.

The win - City's fourth in their last five outings - also confirmed that the Bantams will finish the regular league campaign unbeaten at home.

McCall said: "I am delighted for the players, the supporters, the chairmen and everyone else connected with the club.

"It was great that we have bounced back in the right fashion after a disappointing performance at Sheffield United on Monday.

"We showed good desire out there, some real hunger and determination, and some great quality as well.

"There is still a long way to go but I am proud of the group. We have given ourselves a chance now - a one-in-four opportunity to get to where we want to.

"I cannot give enough credit to this squad of players, the backroom staff and the tremendous supporters we have.

"We asked the lads to go on a big run after losing at Fleetwood and drawing with Bolton back in February - we aimed for seven wins out of thirteen. We've managed to claim eight wins out of twelve and five home wins on the trot.

"This is definitely a team we can be proud of."

Reflecting on the game itself, McCall added: "We defended well when we needed to - that is now four clean sheets out of five - and played some good football at times as well.

"There were a lot of good performances out there. The midfielders worked hard and our front two never let them settle.

"The three subs that came on all played their part as well.

"As a manager, you always have to be wary of the worst case scenario, so to go in two goals up at half time was a nice cushion to have.

"It is not often you can relax on the touchline but I enjoyed the last few minutes when we sealed it with the third."
