THE BANTAMS AND PROVIDENT CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY

31 August 2017

Bradford City and Provident are delighted to announce that the very successful #BantamsCommunity initiative is back for the 2017/18 season. The initiative, proudly backed by the Club’s Official Community Partner, Provident has already helped donate over 350 tickets to local charities, causes and organisations.

#BantamsCommunity aims to give more Bradfordians the chance to watch their club and in doing so help a variety of community based projects.

Provident’s backing will subsidise free tickets to be given away to schools, community organisations, disability groups and other individuals who would, under normal circumstances, not be able to come to watch their heroes on a Saturday afternoon. #BantamsCommunity also aims to help charities with their fundraising objectives.

One of the beneficiaries this season of #BantamsCommunity has been the Bangladeshi Youth Organisation, who were able to take 12 of their young members to the season’s opening fixture vs Blackpool. Many of the 12 were attending their first ever football game.

Formed in 1982, BYO is an established, vibrant youth & community resource, delivering a range of high quality activities and services to improve education, skills, employment, health and sports outcomes in the Manningham area.  Today it is a registered charity located in the heart of the community, delivering youth work, anti-hate community cohesion work, summer scheme, English language classes, community safety project, study support sessions, sports sessions, u12, u15 and open age football teams.

Mohammed Joynal, Projects Manager at the BYO comments on the day “It was a fantastic experience for the young people, who were very excited about going to the game.  They all thoroughly enjoyed it. BYO feels it’s important to engage the immediate community and young people in the Club’s activities- football can be a powerful tool to bring people from all backgrounds together. We’d all like to thank Bradford City and Provident for a fantastic day “

For more information on the BYO and the work they carry out please email Mohammed Joynal at byo1982@hotmail.com, or visit BYO, 52 Cornwall Road, Bradford, BD8 7JN.

Throughout the season, you’ll find out how the partnership has provided match day tickets for numerous good causes in and around the City of Bradford.
