Experienced match official David Webb will take charge of Saturday's (2 September 2017) Sky Bet League One home fixture with Bristol Rovers.
Mr Webb will be in the middle at the Northern Commercials Stadium for the match - kick off 12:30pm.
The Lancashire-based referee has already officiated seven matches so far in the early stages of 2017/2018 campaign.
He took charge of 45 games last season, including City's EFL Cup tie at Accrington Stanley and the league game at Oxford United.
Webb will be joined at the Northern Commercials Stadium by assistant referees Graeme Fyvie and Ian Dudley.
The fourth official for the Bristol Rovers fixture will be Ben Toner.
