The Bantams have completed the loan signing of right back Luke Hendrie from Premier League side Burnley.

Hendrie has joined on loan from the Clarets until January 2018.

He will wear squad number 18 during his time at the Northern Commercials Stadium this season.

The move is subject to Premier League clearance.

Hendrie made 33 appearances with Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock during a successful loan period last season.

The 22 year-old, who is the son of legendary former City attacker John Hendrie, also has experience of playing in the EFL.

He featured on loan at York City and Hartlepool United in Sky Bet League Two during the 2015/16 campaign.

Speaking about the deal, Head of Recruitment Greg Abbott said: "With the end of the summer transfer window coming up, we wanted to ensure we had adequate cover in the right back position, especially if anything happened to Tony McMahon.

"Luke has a good pedigree - he played a number of games in the Scottish Premier League last season.

"This is not the end of what we want to do in the (transfer) window, but Luke's arrival gives us a bit more depth to our squad.

"With the work Luke did last year, he will be more than adequate as cover for Tony, and also actually keep him on his toes in terms of competition.

"Luke wants to come here and do well.

"This club obviously means a lot to his family with this father playing here, but this move isn't about sentiment."

The defender actually spent a period in the youth set-up with the Bantams earlier in his career before signing his first professional contract with Manchester United.

After a year in the professional ranks at the Red Devils, Hendrie spent two seasons with Derby County, also in their development squad.

Having featured for City on trial during the Club's 2015 pre-season, Hendrie moved onto his current employers, Burnley.
