Bantams boss Stuart McCall says City will be under no illusions as to the size of their task when they take on Blackburn Rovers this Saturday.

Coming into the new campaign, Blackburn were the bookies' favourites to win Sky Bet League One following their relegation from the Championship last season.

As Rovers find their feet in their new division though, Tony Mowbray's men have lost both of their opening league games - away to Southend United and at home to Doncaster Rovers.

Despite this slow start for the heavily-fancied side, McCall expects Blackburn to be a strong promotion contender this season and a threat at the weekend.

McCall said: "No-one should be fooled by the table at this very early stage of the season.

"Although we have won two and Blackburn have lost two, we are expecting a strong challenge this Saturday.

"Blackburn have one of the strongest squads in the division, if not the strongest overall, in terms of depth, talent and quality.

"I have no doubt they will be right at the very top end of the division come the end of the season.

"Although we have managed to get maximum points from our opening two games, we know we still have plenty of room for improvement.

"As we gel as a team, we are constantly looking for progression and improvement.

"The aim is certainly to look for that progression and improvement on Saturday - the game is definitely one to relish and look forward to.

"We've had a good week on the training pitch so far, while a number of the lads got some game-time in a friendly at Wigan on Tuesday.

"It is also looking healthier on the injury front. Charlie Wyke has managed to join the group for training this week."
