Bradford City 1 (Taylor 83)
Peterborough United 3 (Lloyd 14, Marriott 33, 67)
Kick Off: 3.00pm
at the Northern Commercials Stadium

Attendance 21,220 (427 visitors)

The Bantams slipped to defeat at the hands of Peterborough United at the Northern Commercials Stadium in their traditional Boxing Day fixture.

In front of a bumper holiday crowd at Valley Parade, City found themselves two goals down at the break thanks to efforts from Peterborough duo Danny Lloyd and Jack Marriott.

The visitors deserved their half-time advantage, but City improved after the break and forced Peterborough back.

Tyrell Robinson saw an effort well saved by the legs of Posh 'keeper Jonathan Bond and Timothee Dieng - one of two half time substitutes for City - went close on more than one occasion.

Despite City's improved showing, however, Peterborough netted again on the break to make the game safe midway through the second period.

With City pushing men forward, Marcus Maddison played Marriott in behind City's defence and the striker - League One's top scorer this season - lobbed the ball over the advancing Rouven Sattelmaier.

City did pull one back thanks to a fine strike from distance by Paul Taylor seven minutes from the end but it wasn't enough to prevent the defeat for Stuart McCall's men.
