POLEON RULED OUT UNTIL THE NEW YEAR

24 December 2017

Bantams boss Stuart McCall has revealed that Dominic Poleon is set to be sidelined until into the new year due to injury.

The striker is likely miss at least the remainder of City's festive programme and the Emirates FA Cup tie at Yeovil Town after suffering a slight tear in his hamstring.

After scoring two in his last two games, Poleon was forced to miss out on a reunion with former club AFC Wimbledon on Saturday because of the injury.

McCall explained: "We reckon Dom will be around three weeks (out) with his hamstring.

"He reported that his hamstring felt sore after last weekend's game (vs Southend).

"He didn't feel it was that bad but we've had it scanned and it has come back showing a small tear."

Nathaniel Knight-Percival also missed the game at the Cherry Red Records Stadium at the weekend, but McCall is hopeful that the defender can feature at some point during the festive season.

McCall added: "Nat was in (at the training ground) on Saturday doing some straight-line running, and he didn't feel any pain with that.

"We will have to assess him on Sunday (Christmas Eve) but I would still say he is still very doubtful at this stage for Boxing Day (vs Peterborough United)."
