BIG MATCH PREVIEW - MK DONS (HOME)

28 February 2017

vs MILTON KEYNES DONS (HOME), Northern Commercials Stadium, Tuesday 28 February 2017, kick off 7:45pm

The Bantams entertain Milton Keynes Dons at the Northern Commercials Stadium in their final Sky Bet League One fixture for the month of February.

The game is the first of two consecutive home matches in the week for Stuart McCall's men, with Peterborough United due at Valley Parade at the weekend.

Should City avoid defeat against MK Dons, McCall's side will make it a year unbeaten in the league at home.

Any victory on Tuesday night will also be City's sixth consecutive league win over the Dons.

MK Dons, now managed by Robbie Neilson, enjoyed a 2-1 success over Shrewsbury Town at Stadium MK on Saturday.

Neilson joined the Dons at the start of December after leaving Hearts to take up the manager's role left by Karl Robinson following six years at the club.

Team News

Bradford City
Bantams boss Stuart McCall says he will have to check on the fitness of a couple of his squad members after Saturday's win at Port Vale.

Mark Marshall, who missed the Vale victory with a tight hamstring, will also be assessed pre-match.

Alex Jones is in contention for a starting berth after coming through unscathed from the Vale match at the weekend.

Jones netted the winner at Vale Park - his first goal for the club - on his return to action from a hip problem.

Matthew Kilgallon remains on City's long-term injury list after shoulder surgery last month.

Milton Keynes Dons
Dons duo Dean Lewington and Ben Reeves are both back in the reckoning having recently returned from injury.

Reeves made his return from a groin injury in Saturday's win over Shrewsbury but Dons boss Robbie Neilson says the attacking midfielder's fitness levels will be to built up again over time.

Ed Upson is back after serving a two-match ban, while defender Joe Walsh has also completed a recent suspension.

Dons boss Robbie Neilson could look to stick with lively attacking duo Kieran Agard and Chuks Aneke, while Nicky Maynard is also an option in the striking department.

Scott Wootton remains the Dons' only long-term absentee.

Previous Encounters
The Bantams secured a 2-1 victory over MK Dons the last time the two sides met towards the start of the season.

Goals from Josh Cullen and Billy Clarke gave McCall's men a strong advantage at the break at Stadium MK. Ed Upson pulled one back deep into injury time but City were still able to claim the away win.

The Bantams have come out on top in the two most recent home matches with MK Dons as well.

Back in the 2014/2015 campaign, Dele Alli, now with Tottenham Hotspur, gave the visitors the lead in front of the Sky Sports cameras but goals from Clarke and James Hanson saw City come from behind for the win.

Hanson was also City's match-winner during the 2013/2014 home encounter, the striker pouncing on a sliced clearance from Dons 'keeper Dave Martin to fire home a second half winner for the 1-0 victory.

Manager's View:

Stuart McCall: "We might have to be patient at times. That could be the case for the players, staff and the fans. As long as we score at least one than more than them though, I'll be happy.
Robbie Neilson: “They are strong and they’ve got quality all over the pitch so we know it’s going to be a tough one. We know it’s going to be a real battle so it’s about scrapping and making sure we get a foothold in the game.”
