BIG MATCH PREVIEW - NORTHAMPTON TOWN (A)

2 January 2017

NORTHAMPTON TOWN (AWAY), Sky Bet League One, Sixfields Stadium, kick off 3:00pm

The Bantams look to make a positive start to 2017 this Bank Holiday as they travel to Sixfields Stadium to take on Northampton Town.

City will be aiming to achieve back-to-back victories over the Cobblers after defeating Rob Page's side at the Northern Commercials Stadium 1-0 back in November.

For both teams this Monday's match will be their second in just three days.

While City were held to a draw at home to Bury on Saturday, Northampton's New Year's Eve fixture ended in a 1-0 loss at Bramall Lane thanks to a late winner from Sheffield United's Kieron Freeman.

Team News

Northampton Town
The Cobblers could look to hand debuts to loan duo Hiram Boateng and Gregg Wylde.

The pair, on loan from Crystal Palace and Millwall respectively, both joined up with Page's squad following their defeat at Sheff Utd.

Defender Brendan Moloney is out with a knee injury.

Bradford City
Bantams duo James Meredith and Timothee Dieng could come back into City's starting line up after the pair were both named on the bench for Saturday's home match with Bury.

Mark Marshall is a doubt after picking up a knock in the same Bury game.

Filipe Morais and Billy Clarke are both definitely out due to calf problems.

Previous Encounters
City have a positive recent record when it comes to playing at Northampton.

The Bantams have only lost away to the Cobblers once since 1978.

City's two most recent visits to Sixfields came during the club's famous 'history-makers' season back in 2012/2013.

A single Nahki Wells goal netted the Bantams a 1-0 win in the league while the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup.

A Wells hat-trick in April 2012 helped secure a 3-1 win at Northampton in the previous campaign.

Northampton's last victory at home to City came in the 2010/2011 season when second half goals from Billy McKay and Ben Tozer gained a 2-0 victory for the hosts.
