OLDHAM ATHLETIC (AWAY) - Saturday 28 January 2017, Park, Sky Bet League One, kick off: 3.00pm

Stuart McCall's Bantams make the short journey across the Pennines this Saturday for their latest Sky Bet League One fixture away to Oldham Athletic.

Along with the visit to Rochdale, City's trip to Oldham will be their nearest away match in the league this season in terms of mileage between the two grounds.

McCall's men will head to Oldham understandably keen to get back into the action following the frustration of Tuesday night's late postponement at Oxford United in the Checkatrade Trophy.

On the same night as City's postponed cup tie, opponents Oldham defeated play-off hopefuls Peterborough United 2-0 at home in front of over 7,000 fans thanks to a free ticket offer from the club.

The victory was Oldham's second on the trot on home soil following the return of John Sheridan earlier this month for his third spell in charge of the Latics.

Despite those two recent home successes though - the other victory coming thanks to a 1-0 win over Gillingham two weeks ago - Oldham still currently find themselves placed 23rd in the League One table.

Fleetwood Town's midweek win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane means City remain fifth in the league standings at present.

Team News

Oldham Athletic

Latics boss John Sheridan could look to give defender Rob Hunt his Oldham debut on Saturday after signing the 21 year-old on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion this Thursday until the end of the season.

Cameron Dummigan will definitely miss this weekend's match, however, after suffering a leg injury in the defeat at Shrewsbury Town last Saturday.

Charles Dunne is also sidelined with a pelvic problem.

Oldham's current squad includes goalkeeper Connor Ripley, who enjoyed a loan spell with City back in 2013, and full back Josh Law, the younger brother of Bantams midfielder Nicky Law.

Bradford City

Matthew Kilgallon is sadly still ruled out with a shoulder problem.

Kilgallon was set for a further scan on his shoulder this week to find out the latest on the injury.

Nathaniel Knight-Percival (twisted ankle) and Filipe Morais (calf) will be assessed to see if they have any chance of making the journey to Oldham with the rest of the squad.

Tony McMahon, Alex Jones and Alex Gilliead are all back in contention after being ineligible for Tuesday's postponed Checkatrade Trophy tie at Oxford United.

With James Hanson completing his move to Sheffield United in midweek, fellow attacker Billy Clarke could be given his chance at the Park.

After two recent substitute appearances following two months on the sidelines with a calf injury, Clarke was due to start the Oxford tie until it was called off shortly before kick off.

Previous Encounters

The game finished 1-1 when City and Oldham met for the first time earlier this season at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

Peter Clarke's header from a early Oldham free-kick gave the visitors the lead at the interval but Billy Clarke's second half penalty claimed a point for Stuart McCall's side.

The Bantams' most recent trip to Oldham's Boundary Park came last season back in September 2015.

Goals from Reece Burke and Devante Cole helped City on their way to a 2-1 success, with Oldham playing a large chunk of the game with only ten men following Jonathan Forte's first half red card.

Forte enjoyed a better game for Oldham the season before - the 2014/2015 campaign - when his early opener helped the hosts on the way to their own 2-1 victory.

Mike Jones added to Forte's goal with a strike of his own midway through the first period to put the Latics - led by Lee Johnson at the time - in charge of the contest.

Andy Halliday pulled a goal back just before the interval but City, who saw Rory McArdle dismissed for a second bookable offence in injury time, couldn't find an equaliser after the break.

City's only other visit to Oldham since their promotion back up into League One ended in a 1-1 draw in December 2013.

Nahki Wells gave Bradford the lead in the first half but Jonson Clarke-Harris quickly levelled things up for Oldham to ensure a share of the spoils.
