PARK AVENUE FRIENDLY CONFIRMED

22 June 2017

Another friendly has been added to City's pre-season schedule, with a short hop to non-league neighbours Bradford (Park Avenue) scheduled to take place on Saturday 8th July 2017.

The fixture will take place at Avenue's Horsfall Stadium just 4 miles up the road from the Northern Commercials Stadium. Kick off is 3.00pm.

The afternoon will, as usual, see both clubs contest for the Tom Banks Memorial Trophy which is currently held by City after last year's 2-2 draw between the two teams. The Bantams retained the trophy following victory in the previous Bradford derby fixture (A 3-0 victory in 2014 courtesy of a hat-trick from trialist Achille Campion).

Avenue are managed by former City defender Mark Bower who recently signed a new 18-month contract to remain in charge at the Horsfall Stadium. He guided the club to a 16th place finish in the Vanarama National League North, steering them well clear of the threat of relegation.

The friendly is added to a schedule which also sees Stuart McCall's men take on Guiseley, FC Halifax Town, Sunderland and Newcastle United. Admission details to follow in due course.
