The Bantams have been drawn at home to fellow Sky Bet League One side Doncaster Rovers in the first round of the 2017/2018 Carabao Cup.
City were pitted alongside Yorkshire neighbours Doncaster, who were promoted up from League Two last season, in Friday's Round One draw.
To celebrate Carabao's new title sponsorship of the EFL Cup, the first round draw was made live from Thailand - the home nation of the Carabao Energy Drink company.
Round One ties in the Carabao Cup are scheduled to take place the week commencing 7 August 2017 - just days after the beginning of the new EFL season.
The Doncaster tie is City's first confirmed competitive match for the forthcoming campaign.
City are due to find out their 2017/18 League One fixtures at 9:00am next Wednesday (21 June 2017).
