DOYLE ENDS HIS SEASON WITH IRELAND DRAW

12 June 2017

Bantams 'keeper Colin Doyle was finally able to bring down the curtain on his 2016/2017 campaign on Sunday following the Republic of Ireland's drawn World Cup qualifier with Austria.

Doyle was listed as an unused substitute as Martin O'Neill's men secured a 1-1 draw against the Austrians at the Avia Stadium, Dublin thanks to a late leveller from Jonathan Walters.

The Austria World Cup qualifier was Ireland's third game in succession at the end of the 16/17 season - the two previous matches being friendlies against Mexico and Uruguay.

Doyle was with the Ireland squad for all three fixtures, joining up with the rest of the group shortly after the Bantams' Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final with Millwall.

For Doyle, who celebrates his 32nd birthday this Monday, the Austria game was his final involvement in a season that began all the way back in last July following his arrival at City.
