BIG MATCH PREVIEW - PETERBOROUGH UNITED (HOME)

3 March 2017

vs PETERBOROUGH UNITED (HOME), Saturday 4 March 2017, Sky Bet League One, Northern Commercials Stadium, kick off 3:00pm

Following Tuesday's entertaining 2-2 home draw with Milton Keynes Dons, Stuart McCall's Bantams return to action this Saturday in Sky Bet League One at the Northern Commercials Stadium against Peterborough United.

The Peterborough match is City's first fixture in March, meaning there is now just two months of the regular season to go.

City's midweek point against MK Dons kept them in fifth place in the League One table, while Peterborough are currently positioned eighth in the division following a 1-0 loss at Millwall.

The Millwall defeat on Tuesday night means Peterborough are sixth points behind McCall's men with both sides having eleven games left to play.

Team News

Bradford City
City winger Mark Marshall will be pushing for a recall after sitting out the last two games with a tight hamstring.

Nicky Law is a slight doubt after picking up a knock in the MK Dons game, while Stephen Darby is expected to miss out due to a nerve problem in his arm.

Reece Webb-Foster (knee) and Matthew Kilgallon (shoulder) remain on City's long-term injury list.

Peterborough United
Posh defender Jack Baldwin will serve out the second of a two-match suspension this weekend.

Midfielders Chris Forrester and Anthony Grant are available to Peterborough boss Grant McCann, however, after both serving recent suspensions of their own.

Previous Encounters
City came out 1-0 winners from the first encounter between the two sides this season at Peterborough's ABAX Stadium.

Jordy Hiwula's first half winner proved enough to secure the Bantams' first win of the 16/17 campaign last August.

Peterborough have secured victory on their two most recent trips to the Northern Commercials Stadium, however.

Goals from Lee Angol and Chris Forrester in quick succession towards the start of the second half saw Peterborough pick up a 2-0 victory in last season's home encounter.

The Posh were also victorious at Valley Parade towards the start of the 14/15 campaign - Kyle Vassell netting the only goal for a 1-0 Peterborough win.

City's most recent home victory over Peterborough came just four months earlier though.

A fantastic first half free-kick from Adam Reach, who was loan to City from Middlesbrough at the time, proved enough to claim a 1-0 success for the Bantams on Good Friday 2014.

Manager's View

Stuart McCall - "We know they have good players within their squad and it will be another challenging fixture, but we are happy with the way we are playing at the moment. We have to concentrate on ourselves and look to turn these one pointers at home into all three points."
Grant McCann - "Bradford don't get beat often at home but we have to go there and try to find a way. We will go there in a positive frame of mind. They try to move you around and open you up - they have players who can hurt you."
