CITY COMPLETE PYBUS SIGNING

10 March 2017

The Bantams have completed the signing of exciting young midfielder Daniel Pybus.

Pybus, 19, put pen to paper on his City contract this week to become the latest addition to Bantams boss Stuart McCall's squad.

The attack-minded player, pictured alongside City joint-chairman Edin Rahic, has been training with McCall's side in recent weeks and featured for the reserves in their last two matches.

The former Sunderland midfielder left the Stadium of Light at the end of the January transfer window.

He had formerly been a part of the Black Cats' Under-23s side this season after an eye-catching campaign for their Under-18s the year before.

Playing predominately as a central or attacking midfielder, Pybus netted an impressive 15 goals in 23 games for Sunderland's youth team last season.

He was an unused sub in three of Sunderland's four matches in their Checkatrade Trophy campaign earlier this season.

Pybus has also been capped at Under-16 level for England.

After completing his deal to the Bantams, Pybus said: "Having trained with the lads already, I feel more confident now around the club.

"Training with the players has also helped to bring me on as a player.

"There are a lot of good midfielders here and I can learn things from them and develop my game.

"It would be nice to get in and around the first team as soon as possible as well.

"I was at the Milton Keynes Dons game recently and the atmosphere was incredible.

"It made you want to jump out of your seat and get out on the pitch. I would love to make my first team debut before the end of the season."
