McCALL | PREPARATIONS KEY FOR SCUNTHORPE GAME

24 March 2017

Bantams boss Stuart McCall says City will be taking no chances with their preparations for this Sunday's Sky Bet League One fixture at Scunthorpe United.

Despite Glanford Park being less than an hour and a half away from Bradford, McCall's men will be staying in a hotel the night before the game to ensure they are ready for the lunchtime kick off.

McCall said: "With the game being a half twelve kick off, it does obviously change the routine.

"We would never normally go overnight to Scunthorpe but we are doing so this time to ensure the players are eating at the right time and not travelling.

"The players will be having their pre-match meal in the morning rather than during the middle of the day as usual.

"We will be travelling down to the hotel on the Saturday afternoon following training, with myself, Kenny (Black) and (Steve) Banksey meeting up with the group later having gone to see other games in our division.

"It will be the same for their (Scunthorpe) players and staff though.

"If we were at home, I'm sure some of our lads who are coming from places outside Yorkshire would be staying in a hotel the night before. I guess some of their players will be (staying in a hotel) on Saturday night.

"The kick off time is clearly different to what we are normally used to but I'm sure our vocal travelling support will still make it a cracking atmosphere.

"Naturally, you always want to well against one of your near competitors. We will go into the game with good momentum, good confidence, and focused on the job in hand."
