BIG MATCH PREVIEW - FLEETWOOD TOWN (HOME) - PLAY-OFFS

4 May 2017

vs FLEETWOOD TOWN, Sky Bet League One Play-Offs Semi-Final First Leg, Thursday 4 May 2017, kick off 7:45pm, Northern Commercials Stadium

Here we are. The wait is almost over!

Stuart McCall's Bantams entertain Fleetwood Town at the Northern Commercials Stadium this Thursday evening in the eagerly-anticipated first leg of their play-offs semi-final.

This season's play-offs adventure will be City's third in their last five campaigns. With home advantage first up, McCall's men will be keen to put down an early marker in the opening leg.

Fleetwood have shown impressive form on the road this season, however, picking up notable victories at Sheffield United and Scunthorpe United.

There was precious little to split the two teams on the final league table of the season - with both sides even winning their home games 2-1 during the regular campaign - suggesting that we could be in for a evenly-fought contest over the two legs.

Team News

Bradford City
Bantams striker Alex Jones is the only doubt for City after the 22 year-old limped off during last Sunday's draw at Rochdale with a hamstring injury.

Matthew Kilgallon and Alex Gilliead both made a welcome return from injury in that same Rochdale game, with both players expected to be in City's squad on Thursday evening.

Fleetwood Town
The Cod Army will need to check on the fitness of influential centre-half Cian Bolger after the defender aggravated an ankle injury early into the match with Port Vale last time out.

If Bolger misses out, Fleetwood stalwart Nathan Pond is expected to take his place at the back.

Former Bantams forward Devante Cole is also a doubt for the visitors due to a groin injury.

Midfielder Jimmy Ryan made his return from a long-term foot injury during the week in the Fleetwood's Lancashire Senior Cup match at Blackburn Rovers.
