Sky Bet League One Play-Offs Semi-Final Second Leg
Sunday 7 May 2017

Bradford City win 1-0 on aggregate

Attendance 5,076 (727 visitors)

Stuart McCall's Bantams put in a professional performance to complete the job in their League One Play-Offs semi-final at Fleetwood Town and deservedly book their trip to Wembley.

Leading 1-0 after Thursday's opening leg, McCall's side always looked in control at Highbury Stadium, as they kept the hosts at arms' length throughout to secure progression to the final via a goalless draw.

Despite Fleetwood being the side in need of goals, it was City who bossed the first half in Sunday's decisive return encounter, with Charlie Wyke coming the closest to scoring after hitting the post with a header.

The Cod Army threw more bodies forward after the break but, in truth, the Bantams never truly looked in danger of losing their dream ticket to Wembley.

The final whistle understandably brought joyous scenes in the away end of the stadium. Joint-chairmen Edin Rahic and Stefan Rupp joined the players and staff on the pitch to celebrate City's claiming their third trip to Wembley in four years.
