JONES TO BE MONITORED AHEAD OF FLEETWOOD SECOND LEG

5 May 2017

Bantams boss Stuart McCall has admitted that City striker Alex Jones is unlikely to be fit for Sunday's trip to Fleetwood Town - but he hasn't completely ruled him out of the reckoning just yet.

Jones missed out on Thursday's Play-Offs semi-final first leg victory over Fleetwood at the Northern Commercials Stadium after injuring his hamstring at Rochdale last weekend.

Although time would appear to be against the forward, McCall says that Jones is recovering well from the problem and could still make the journey to the Highbury Stadium for the decisive second leg.

McCall said: "He wasn't realistically an option for Thursday but he continues to improve remarkably really.

"His recovery seems to be improving every day. We will continue to monitor him but we won't take any risks with him either.

"He's had a scan on the area and it has revealed a small problem, but we still feel he might have a slight chance for Sunday."
