AWAY FANS' GUIDE | WIGAN ATHLETIC

After three consecutive home games in league and cup for Stuart McCall's Bantams, it is back on the road for City this Saturday (18 November 2017) with a trip to Wigan Athletic in Sky Bet League One.

Ahead of the trip to the DW Stadium, let's take a look at some relevant match-day information for those fans making the journey to Lancashire...

The post code WN5 0UN should direct you the Power League Soccerdome on Stadium Way. This is the best option if you are heading for Car Parks 1, 3, 4 & 5. If you are heading for the main reception, then you should use the post code WN5 0UZ. 

Directions

From the North
Exit the M6 motorway at Junction 27 and turn left at end of slip road. Turn right at T-junction (sign-posted Shevington). After roughly 1 mile turn left into Old Lane (signed B5375 Standish Lower-Ground). After around 2 miles turn right into Scot Lane at the traffic light. Take the first left turn into Stadium Way for the entrance to the Stadium Car Parks or second left for the main entrance.

From the West 
Exit the M6 motorway at Junction 25. At end of slip road in roughly 1 mile turn left (sign-posted Wigan A49). Continue forward and across the next roundabout, using the second exit.  Follow the signs for Wigan A49 for just over a mile to the saddle roundabout At the Saddle roundabout, take the first exit (sign-posted Standish A49) into Robin Park Road. Follow signs for DW Stadium. 

From the West (second route) 
Exit the M6 motorway at Junction 26 (M58/M6 Interchange), following the signs for Wigan/Orrell/Upholland. At the end of slip road, turn right and continue on this road for roughly 2.5 miles to the Saddle Junction. At the saddle roundabout, take first exit and drive past the Asda Superstore.  Follow signs for DW Stadium.

Parking 
The DW Stadium has around 2,000 car parking spaces located around the stadium. Do not park in the Robin Retail Park, cinema, Asda and B+Q car parks, however, as these are not official car parks. Supporters who park there run the risk of being clamped and fined. Parking spaces in the official car parks are available at a cost of £5.00 per car/motorcycle, £10.00 for minibuses and £20.00 for coaches.

Rail
Wigan is served by two railway stations, Wigan Northern Western and Wigan Wallgate. Both are located quite close to each other. Wigan North Western train station connects passengers from Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, London, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Wigan Wallgate station connects passengers from Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Southport, Bolton and Blackburn amongst other stations. Taxis are available from outside Wigan North Western station (located around 1 and a half miles from the DW Stadium), costing roughly £5.00.

Bus
Wigan Bus Station is located in the heart of Wigan town centre, around the corner from both Wigan Train Stations along King Street West and then right onto Dorning Street. Buses that journey past or near to the DW Stadium include the number 628 and 641 services.

Food & Drink
One option for food & drink near to the ground is the Red Robin pub, which is located on the nearby Robin Park retail area. The Robin Retail Park also has a number of other food outlets, including KFC and Frankie and Benny's. There is a large ASDA superstore located near to the stadium as well. Wigan town centre is around a 20-minute walk away.
