FIVE THINGS | PLYMOUTH ARGYLE (FA CUP)

30 November 2017

Stuart McCall's Bantams entertain Plymouth Argyle at the Northern Commercials Stadium in the Emirates FA Cup second round this Saturday (2 December 2017).

Ahead of the cup encounter, let's take a look at five possible talking points this weekend...

1. Plymouth, we meet again!
For the second time in three weeks, City will welcome Plymouth to Valley Parade this Saturday. The two sides, of course, met last month in Sky Bet League One. Plymouth came out 1-0 winners on 11 November thanks to some resolute defending on the day from the visitors. Can City get the better of the Pilgrims this time around, however, and come out on top when the two sides meet again?

2. Third round spot at place
As City prepare to take part in their second match in this season's Emirates FA Cup, Stuart McCall's men go into this Saturday's encounter knowing that, potentially, they are one match away from a place in the prized third round draw. With Premier League and Championship sides set to enter the competition at the third round stage, the Bantams will be desperate to join them in the much-anticipated draw.

3. Play your part!
With City aiming to book their spot in the third round stage, the club is looking for supporters to play their part with a wall of noise and colour at the Northern Commercials Stadium this weekend. If the previous encounter between City and Plymouth last month is anything to go by, Saturday's tie could be a tight and hard-fought match. Can you make the difference by cheering on the Bantams and helping to create a memorable atmosphere at Valley Parade?

4. McCall to look at his options?
After Saturday's success at Shrewsbury Town, McCall could easily look to stick with the same starting XI for the Plymouth FA Cup tie. With a busy festive period coming up in the next few weeks though, could McCall use the Plymouth encounter to give some of his other squad members the chance to stake a claim? Tyrell Robinson has impressed on more than one occasion recently coming off the bench, while Omari Patrick netted an eye-catching double for the reserves in midweek.

5. The first of three
This weekend's FA Cup tie will be the first of three home games in different competitions in just eight days for the Bantams. After the Plymouth match, City will entertain Oldham Athletic on Tuesday in Round Two of the Checkatrade Trophy. McCall's side will then return back to league action against Rochdale the following Saturday at the Northern Commercials Stadium.
