After two successive cup matches, Stuart McCall's Bantams return to action in Sky Bet League One with the visit of Plymouth Argyle to the Northern Commercials Stadium this Saturday (11 November 2017).
Ahead of the League One encounter with the Pilgrims, let's take a look at five possible talking points going into the weekend.
1. League football returns
Following recent games in the Emirates FA Cup and Checkatrade Trophy, McCall's men get back to league football on Saturday when Plymouth travel to Valley Parade. City ended last month with a hard-fought victory over Portsmouth in their previous league game. Can the Bantams pick up where they left off with a win over Plymouth?
2. Attacking options
Going into this Saturday's encounter, it would appear that McCall has a pleasing selection dilemma on his hands in terms of his attacking options. Paul Taylor has certainly caught the eye in recent weeks with a number of bright displays, but fellow attacker Alex Jones has also pushed himself forward into the reckoning with two goals from his last two starting appearances. With Dominic Poleon returning to fitness during the week and Charlie Wyke looking as important as ever to the Bantams, who will McCall decide to go with up front for the Plymouth game?
3. Resilient Plymouth looking to make it tough
Plymouth may head into this Saturday's encounter bottom of League One, but their recent form is encouraging. The Pilgrims are unbeaten in their last four league games, a run which has seen them hold league leaders Shrewsbury Town and Blackburn Rovers to 1-1 draws. During this recent four-game run, Plymouth have only conceded three goals, keeping a clean sheet in their victory at AFC Wimbledon last time out on the road. Plymouth's plans for the match have been a dealt a blow, however, with the news that influential playmaker Graham Casey will miss Saturday's fixture due to suspension. Carey have either scored or set-up Plymouth's last five league goals. The talented attacker also scored Plymouth's match-winner in their victory over Grimsby Town last Saturday in the Emirates FA Cup.
4. First of two for Plymouth
This Saturday's trip to Valley Parade for Plymouth will be their first in nearly five years. Their previous visit to BD8 came during City's memorable 2012/2013 campaign, with Gary Jones netting the only goal in a 1-0 victory for the Bantams. Sadly, the game was overshadowed slightly by the terrible leg break suffered by defender John Egan, who was on loan to City from Sunderland at the time. Having gone such a long period without a visit to the Northern Commercials Stadium then, Plymouth now play twice at the home of the Bantams in less than a month when the two sides meet in the Emirates FA Cup second round at the start of December.
5. We will remember them
With Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday coming up this weekend, City's players and staff will pay their respects at the Plymouth match to those we have lost in both World Wars and other more recent conflicts. City's match-day shirts will include Remembrance Poppies on them this Saturday, while there will also be a minute's silence ahead of kick off.
