CITY WIN PFA FAIR PLAY AWARD

13 November 2017

The Bantams have been awarded the PFA Bobby Moore Football Fair Play Trophy for having the best disciplinary record across the top four divisions for the 2016/2017 campaign.

PFA Assistant Chief Executive Richard Jobson presented City goalkeeper Colin Doyle and Chief Operating Officer James Mason with the trophy ahead of Saturday's fixture with Plymouth Argyle at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

The Bantams will also receive £15,000 to be used on club and community projects.

Despite playing a long and eventful 57-game campaign, Stuart McCall's squad only collected 58 yellow cards during all of their league and cup games last season.

McCall's side also didn't receive a single red card or player suspension during the same period.

City's praiseworthy disciplinary record last season was all the more impressive given the fact that it still didn't stop them from making it as far as the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final.

The award, named after England's 1966 World Cup-winning captain, is presented every year by the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) to the club throughout the Premier League and three Football League divisions with the best disciplinary record.

The Fair Play Award was established by the PFA in 1988 to reward the club with the best disciplinary record, enabling the PFA to highlight good behaviour and sportsmanship by its members on the field of play.
