THE BANTAMS TO SLEEP ROUGH

19 October 2017

City fans are being urged to join James Mason and his colleague Thomas Davidson and sleep out at the Northern Commercials Stadium to raise funds for a charity that helps the homeless.

Sleep Out Bradford is looking for Bantams followers to swap their beds for sleeping bags for one night to support Centrepoint The special sleep-out event will be held at Valley Parade on Thursday 9 November between 7:00pm and 7:00am.

It will include food and entertainment to help those involved settle in for their night out.

Supporters will sleep out in the concourse area of the Club's JCT600 Main Stand.

Centrepoint is the UK's leading youth homelessness charity and works with more than 150 homeless young people in Bradford every day.

They provide accommodation and support to help people turn their lives around by gaining essential life skills, such as tackling physical and mental health issues and moving into education and/or employment.

James Mason urges supporters to join him said:

"I’ve been aware of Centrepoint for a number of seasons throughout my time here. Whilst we receive a large number of charity requests, this was one that really appealed to us, because it gives us an opportunity to show that Bradford City is more than just a place to hold football matches, every other Saturday. We’re aiming to raise money and awareness for a very important social problem within the City. It also gives the Club a chance to interact with other like-minded members of the community.

I am in a very privileged position in my role here at Bradford City and I am very lucky to have a job, house and a family. Many of the people we raise money for don’t have any of these, let alone all three, so I would encourage anyone to join us or if not, show the true #BantamsFamily, spirit and donate to the cause”

I’m delighted that my colleague Thomas has also signed up, although I gave him very little choice, but in all seriousness it shows how importantly we take our positions and the Club and it’s role in our City”

Thomas added

“I’m very proud to be taking part in Sleep Out here at Valley Parade. As a Bradfordian, I’m looking forward to raising money and awareness for a very real issue in our City.

Having been at the Club for just over two years, I’m fully aware of the responsibility we have in the City and that’s why I’ve signed up for such a fantastic event.

I’m sure that Sleep Out will be a great night and I’m hoping that lots of City fans will swap their beds for sleeping bags and join James and I in the concourses on the 9thof November!”
