City manager Stuart McCall admitted a point against Oldham Athletic on Tuesday evening was probably a fair result. A Paul Taylor goal was cancelled out by Eoin Doyle's equaliser for the Latics as both sides were left to settle for a share of the spoils

He said: 'It was a fair point and it was two good sides coming up against each other. It was a good first half performance from us and we scored a great goal, but I thought in the second half we were a bit scrappy and committing fouls we didn't need to. The substitutions gave us a lift again towards the end.'

'It was an enjoyable game to watch. As a manager you shouldn't really enjoy watching games but I'll enjoy watching that one back on the DVD, it was entertaining.'

'I thought we should have capitalised on scoring early on, but they've scored a great goal to get back into the game. You're never happy with a point at home, but they're a good side.'

'I watched their last two games and they fully deserved to beat Blackburn last weekend, and their away performance at Portsmouth when they won 2-1 down there was one of the best I've seen since I've been back down here.'

'We knew it would be a tricky game tonight, so we come away having wanted three points, but they're playing with a lot of confidence and momentum. We didn't capitalise on a great start to the game, but it was a good, fair point and a good game.'
