Bantams boss Stuart McCall has made as many as four changes to his side from City's last league outing for the visit to Fratton Park this Saturday.
Tony McMahon, who has missed City's last three league games with a thigh problem, is fit enough to make his return at right back against Portsmouth.
With Nathaniel Knight-Percival suspended, Adam Thompson - fresh from his goal in Tuesday's Checkatrade Trophy success over Manchester City U21s - is named in the Bantams' back four alongside McMahon, Matthew Kilgallon and Tom Field.
Now free from his own suspension, skipper Romain Vincelot returns to midfield at the expense of fellow Frenchman Timothee Dieng.
Paul Taylor has shrugged off a recent rib injury to take his place up top with Charlie Wyke.
Dominic Poleon remains sidelined with a hamstring issue.
