CITY TO BEGIN CENTRAL LEAGUE CAMPAIGN

5 September 2017

City's Development Squad will begin their Central League (reserve) campaign for the 2017/2018 season this Tuesday with an away match at Doncaster Rovers.

The Bantams will play a number of games in the second-string competition throughout the season, mixed in with a selection of friendly fixtures.

The Central League is the main reserve league run by the EFL.

City have already featured in friendlies against Wigan Athletic, Notts County and Sunderland since the start of the first-team's campaign last month.

The Bantams won the first two before narrowly losing out to Sunderland in the other game last Thursday.

City's Development Squad will be lead by Senior Professional Development Coach Sam Collins during their Central League campaign.

A number of City's younger professionals are set to feature at Doncaster this Tuesday afternoon (kick off 2:00pm), including Callum Gunner, Jordan Gibson, Alex Laird, Ellis Hudson, Lachlan Barr and Jacob Hanson.

After featuring as unused subs in the Sky Bet League One fixture with Bristol Rovers at the weekend, Daniel Devine and Luke Hendrie could also play in the match against Rovers.

The game will take place at Doncaster's Cantley Park training ground - entry is free for all supporters.
