FIVE THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR | NORTHAMPTON TOWN (AWAY)

21 September 2017

Stuart McCall's Bantams travel to Sixfields Stadium this Saturday (23 September 2017) to place Northampton Town in their latest Sky Bet League One fixture.

Ahead of the encounter with the Cobblers, we take a look at five possible talking points going into the weekend...

1. More goal-getting heroics from the skipper?
After scoring twice for the Bantams last season, City captain Romain Vincelot goes into this Saturday's match at Northampton Town having scored in each of the last three matches. Can the French midfielder keep his amazing scoring run going at the Sixfields Stadium?

2. Hasselbaink at the helm
Northampton Town boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been in the hot-seat at Sixfields Stadium for two weeks now after succeeding Justin Edinburgh as Cobblers manager. Hasselbaink's two most recent matches in charge of Northampton ended with a draw at Southend United last weekend and a narrow defeat away to Wigan Athletic on Tuesday evening. Hasselbaink's first two matches though - his only two games at Sixfields so far - both resulted in victories for the Cobblers - a 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers and a 3-1 success against Portsmouth.

3. Hasselbaink help
One City player who will certainly be familiar with Northampton's new manager is Tony McMahon. The right back, who has been involved in seven of City's league goals so far this season, played with the Dutchman as he broke into the first team at Middlesbrough. Another City player with 'Boro links - Charlie Wyke - actually used to ball-boy at the Riverside Stadium during Hasselbaink's playing days!

4. Sixfields success
Despite not being in the same division for three seasons, City's trip to Northampton this Saturday will be the Bantams' sixth visit to Sixfields in just over five years. A Nahki Wells hat-trick helped the Bantams to success away at Northampton towards the back end of the 2011/2012 season, while City also enjoyed two games at Northampton - one being an FA Cup tie - during the memorable 2012/2013 campaign. On top of that, the Bantams also played at Sixfields in the 2013/14 season when Coventry City used the stadium as their temporary base. The Bantams have won their last three league matches away at Northampton as well, making it a happy hunting ground.

5. Dieng the only absentee
Frenchman Timothee Dieng is expected to be the only senior outfield player unavailable to Bantams boss Stuart McCall for this weekend's match at Northampton Town. With another busy week on the horizon for City next week, will McCall look to make changes at Sixfields or stick with the same starting XI?
