14 September 2017

Stuart McCall's Bantams take on Rotherham United at the Northern Commercials Stadium this Saturday (16 September 2017) in an eagerly-anticipated Yorkshire derby.

Ahead of City's Sky Bet League One encounter with Rotherham, let's take a look at five possible talking points for this weekend.

1. Goals galore?
Going into this Saturday's encounter, both sides have scored a combined total of 17 goals in their last three games (Rotherham 9, Bradford City 8). Can we expect more goal-mouth action and drama come this Saturday?

2. Two form teams
Unsurprisingly then given the amount of goals scored, both sides head into the game bang in form. Rotherham have won three on the trot - away to Portsmouth and at home to Bury and Walsall. City have won two and drawn once in the same period following a tricky run of games against Bristol Rovers, Peterborough United and Oxford United. Which side will keep their run going come Saturday evening?

3. Rotherham return
This Saturday's game will be City's first home match against their South Yorkshire opponents since Boxing Day 2013. The Bantams' most recent success over Rotherham at the Northern Commercials Stadium came back in March 2011. Will City record another Yorkshire derby victory at the weekend?

4. Nicky Law connections
Bantams midfielder Nicky Law will certainly be familiar with both teams in this Saturday's game. After his first couple of spells with the Bantams in 2007 and 2008, Law spent two years with the Millers at their previous home of the Don Valley Stadium. During his time with Rotherham, Law actually played alongside current Millers boss Paul Warne.

5. Biggest of the season so far?
With both sides currently in great form ahead of this Yorkshire derby, could we be on course for one of the biggest home crowds of the season at the Northern Commercials Stadium? The highest total at Valley Parade so far in the early stages of the 2017/2018 campaign is 21,403 for the Blackburn Rovers game. Will Saturday's attendance beat that?
