Match official Jeremy Simpson has been confirmed as the referee for Saturday's (16 September 2017) Yorkshire derby with Rotherham United at the Northern Commercials Stadium.

Mr Simpson has officiated 7 games so far this season, mainly in the Sky Bet Championship.

His most recent fixture came this Tuesday when he took charge of Sheffield Wednesday's 2-1 home win over Brentford.

The Lancashire-based official took charge of 40 games last season. Again, the majority of them were in the Championship.

His previous game in the middle involving Bradford City came back in August 2015, with the Bantams winning out 1-0 over Port Vale thanks to Devante Cole's late goal.

The two assistant referees on hand to help Mr Simpson this Saturday are Nick Hopton and Tony Peart.

The fourth official will be Peter Wright.
